Negative reinforcement results in some kind of out come. Punishment does not.

Positive reinforcement is basically rewarding a stimulus that will increase the chances of getting a more positive response. They used an example of giving a child their dessert after finishing their vegetables. Negative reinforcement is the opposite. They used an example of reducing a prisoners jail sentence because of their good behavior.

The main point of the article was to tell us how people mix up the difference between punishment and negative reinforcement. When you punish someone, you take away something from them. Or give them something that they don't want like a speeding ticket. Negative reinforcement is like a talking thing. a great example of negative reinforcement would be bullying. It is putting a negative outlook on someone. Making them feel bad about themselves. Or negative reinforcement could be catering in to a bad habit of a child.

In the article I read today it talked about how people mix up negative reinforcement and punishment. Also it talked about Sheldon on the big bang theory on how he took reinforcement. Also it is not like math so they don't mean the same thing. Negative reinforcement is targeted. Positive is not.

Most people use negative reinforcement and punishment simultaniously, but there is a difference between the two. Negative reinforcement is realizing something bad is happening and finding a way to change it such as you are getting bullied so you switch the doors you come into during school. Punishment is you are doing something bad and something is happening to keep you away from doing it again. An example would be a kid hitting their sibling at dinner so they have to sit in time out.

Negative reinforcement and punishment are not the same thing. They are 'polar opposites' it says in the article. Reinforcement is increasing the likability that something will happen. Punishment is decreasing the likability that something will happen. Negative reinforcement rewards a behavior. While punishment punishes a behavior.

Most people use "negative reinforcements" to mean "punishment" when both are not the same. Giving a child dessert after they have finished their vegetables is positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcements consists of a reward. Negative reinforcements consist of termination.

Negative reinforcement consists of the termination of an aversive stimulus which increases the likelihood of a target response. Negative reinforcement results in some kind of out come. Positive punishment consists of the onset of an aversive stimulus which decreases the likelihood of a target response. Both positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement are reinforcement and thus increase the probability that a response will occur.

Negative reinforcement and positive reinforcement both have outcomes, while punishment does not.

The article talked about how negative reinforcement is different from punishment. People often gets these two mixed up. When you punish someone you take something away like a kids phone or something for bad grades and negative reinforcement is something they do to someone or something else.

There are two types of reinforcement. Positive and negative. Positive is giving your child dessert for eating vegetables and negative is more not giving dessert for hitting a family member.

Basically negative reinforcement consists of the termination of an aversion stimulus which increases the likelihood of a target response. Negative reinforcement results in some kind of out come. Positive punishment consists of the onset of an aversive stimulus which decreases the likelihood of a target response. Positive reinforcement consists of a reward which increases the likelihood of doing that action. For example:giving a child a dessert after he or she ate his or her vegetables is considered a positive reinforcement .Because you are getting a reward for finishing or doing that action.A negative reinforcement is the termination of a stimulus and that increases the likelihood of getting a response. Finally,a punishment reinforcement consists of a negative or positive meaning it both increases the probability of a response.

Many people confuse negative reinforcement with punishment. Turns out these two forms of reinforcements are not alike at all. Negative reinforcement is more like positive positive enforcement, both of these result in something being repeated. Positive reinforcement increases the frequency of a behavior when applied. Negative reinforcement increases the frequency of a behavior when removed. Where as punishment decreases the frequency of the behavior.

this is saying that negative reinforcement and punishment is not that same thing but negative has a outcome

There are two kinds of reinforcements one is negative and one is positive. As well as those two there is punishment. Negative would be giving someone a reward for bad behavior. Positive would be when your parents give you an allowance for doing what thy ask of you or for good grades. On the other hand punishment would be getting a ticket for speeding or not wearing you seat belt.
