havent you noticed that when you make a new years resolution that you always end up not doing it or become unhappy? There are many factors why you might be stuck financial stability is often the biggest one, followed by fear of change or making a mistake, not having the education or resources you need, etc.the fall is a good way to start over maybe try and attempt what you wanted to do before the new year comes around.

Opioid addiction is becoming a widespread epidemic in America. It is estimated that 2.5 million Americans have abused or become dependent on opioids. About 78 people in the U.S. die everyday from a drug overdose. More than half of all cases of overdose are attributed to opioids and heroin. These facts all show that the opioid epidemic is a serious one and one that is far too common for us as a country.

I relate to the article about clowns because people get mad over the smallest things or people want to get back at someone. Many people are scared of clowns so then when someone makes someone mad or upset, the other person picks to get back at the person as dressing up as a clown.

I read the article Creepy Clowns and the Science of Deindividuation. This article is about how deindividuation is a state in which one’s identity is hidden. So, for example, if you are in an anonymous chat room online you are deindividuated and so is everyone else. Or if you are the guy at the Halloween party with the total body-covering monster costume and full-on mask that never reveals your identity the whole night, you are deindividuated. And the very short version of research on deindividuation is this: People are much more likely to engage in all kinds of abhorrent behavior when they are in a state of deindividuation. Researchers on this topic have found that deindividuated individuals are more likely to hurt others, cheat, steal, lie, and even kill under such conditions.ne of the hallmarks of clowns pertains to deindividuation. Clowns wear funny outfits. They wear crazy wigs. And they usually wear full-on make-up. Oh, and don’t forget the clown nose. While these features likely have several functions, from a social psychological perspective, the primary function is deindividuation. Once you’re in your clown outfit, your true identity becomes deeply buried in the minds of anyone observing you. You are no longer “Joseph Harrington,” you are now “Mr. Bibbles And as a deindividuated human being, your behavior is now likely about to change in all kinds of ways.In thinking about the psychology of clowns, it occurred to me that clowns are rare in the fact that they are supposed to be deindividuated in their work context. In most work contexts, people are supposed to be highly individuated, in fact! At the grocery store, the checkout person wears a name tag. At the doctor’s office, the nurse and the doctor introduce themselves at the start of an appointment. Every student knows the teacher’s name and face. A trial lawyer does not wear a mask during his work although he or she may really be a shark. And so forth

Deindividuation is when you are anonymous, like being in an online chat room, forum, or wearing a clown mask. When people are anonymous like that, they are much more likely to act in a completely different way. You can be unable to speak to people out in public and be an awkward mess, but you can very easily speak over the internet, because you know that people cannot see you or know who you are. If you wear a clown mask in the middle of the night down in the neighborhood, then you're more than likely to do something stupid, like try to scare a stranger and probably get yourself stabbed. This was used during warfare at one point in time to take advantage of these hidden traits of people. In short people act their worst when under deindividuation.

I read the article about the clowns. The clown epidemic going around isn't just something around your town, but it's world wide. With everyone dressing up as clowns, you are completely hidden and therefore your identity is sealed. This creates something called deindividuation, which is basically you will act out of your normal state, mostly in bad ways, because your identity is concealed. You are more liable to kill someone, steal, cheat, lie, etc.

I agree with the creepy clowns and the science of deindividuation because in my opinion is very weird and creepy . They need put a end to clown walking around . In this article its says that "My friend in Long Island had a school lockdown, clowns were apparently seen at the edge of the woods behind her high school!." Thats a major problem because than some students wont come to school because they scared or they wont be focus as much .Agree with article at end saying "run the other way, and don’t look back!".

Most people think that if they are being sexist but mean it as a joke, then it's okay. Well it's not okay. Women already don't get treated as an equal so why should we be okay with men making sexist comments but with a humor tone? They shouldn't make a sexist joke because then that's what people will think when they think of the word sexist. They will think that sexism is a joke and that there isn't a problem with it but there is a huge problem. Sexism isn't to be treated lightly, it effects young women even by saying you hit like a girl. Just because we are women, doesn't mean we should be treated equally. By saying sexist jokes, it just means that you take sexism as a joke.

The article I read was about the misuse of medical care. It was about a lady who had an illness and a nurse who tried to help. They sent the lady to the ER many times and gave her lots of medication. They did this to keep her comfortable and operational. They did not want to just have her stay alive.

More and more people some who don't even know they are doing it are being sexist with jokes they just call "humor" when it is more than just that. Sexist acts that demean people hide within jokes but it makes the person targeted feel inferior and bad about themselves.

The article I read is about the clowns. Basically, they're so scary because they don't have an identity. When people dress up as clowns, they become deindividuated and lose they're morals as human beings. Once they have the mask on, they start to change their behavior because they're more comfortable being "nobody" than having people knowing who they are and judging/punishing their behaviors.

I read the article about opioid addiction in middle america. The drug addiction for most started out as abusing Oxycontin. When the medicine makers started to make them harder to abuse (making them harder to break down to snort or sniff) The addicts started to use heroin which has started an up rise in overdose

The reason clowns are creepy to many, is because they are individualized. Meaning you don't know who they are. Therefore they can do things that most people cant do because they are unknown.
