The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American fighter pilots in World War II. These men are considered to be some of the absolute best aviators in the United States Air Force. At the time the white pilots did nit want to fly with the black aviators. This caused all of the black pilots to become a group called the Tuskegee Airmen.
In 1940, there were less than a hundred of licensed African american soldiers. There was a resentment towards the idea. But the U.S. conducted the Tuskegee Airman experiment. They didn't drop bombs, but they protected the bombers from enemies.They even set a record.
