In chapter 6 alot of things happened. Every man was called to meet at the market in the morning for something important. They met up because Ogbuefi, Udo's daughter was killed in Mbaino Marketplace. Mbaino had a choice between war or young man and virgin. They chose young man and virgin. The kid was Ikemefuna and he was to live with Okonkwo and his wives for a while. The kid had no clue what was going on but was informed.
A woman goes to Mbaino to the market and gets killed. Because of this the village had a meeting to see what had to happen. The speaker was ogbuefi. Okonkwo had to go to Mbaino and get a virgin and a 15 year old. The 15 year old ended up having to live with him.
Someone from Mbaino killed someone from Umuofia, and in order to prevent a war, a young girl and a young boy were sent to Umuofia. The girl married Ogbuefi Udo to replace his dead wife. Okonkwo took the boy home and gave him to his oldest wife to take care of until he would be killed. His wives argued, and it was shown that he had a bad temper with them.
There is a meeting to take place in the morning. The meeting is for all men in the village. The meeting was at the market and 10,000 men showed up. To start the meeting "Umuofia kwenu" was yelled 5 times. "Yaa!" was yelled in response for each time. The Mbaino killed a daughter of Umuofia.
The town crier called out for a town meeting the next day. Okonkwo thought it was probably to go to war. The crier was Ogbuefi Ezeugo. Ogbuefi said that onoe of Umuofia's daughters was killed. They went to the other town and demanded a virgin and a young boy or else they would attack. The young boy they gave was named Ikemefuma was sent to live with Okonkwo.
A woman from the village was killed by members of a different village. A meeting was called together for all the men to make a plan as to how they would retaliate. They were a feared tribe, and threatened to go to war if the debt was not repaid. The other village sent a 15 year old boy and a young virgin girl as a sacrifice. The girl was given to the man whose wife had been killed, and the 15 year old boy, whose father had been apart of the murder, was sent to live with Okonkwo. Okonkwo ordered his senior wife to watch over the boy. The boy was scared.
Okonkwo was a wrestler and he defeated the Cat.He had three wives and two barns full of yams and he was wealthy.He is ashamed of his father because his father was in debt and he was a drunk. One day, a rival tribe killed somebody from his tribe. His tribe said they were going wipe out their tribe if they didn't hand over a virgin and a fifteen year old boy. Okonkwo took them to his tribe, and he took the boy and raised him.
In chapter 2, the village Mbaino goes to war with Umofia. This is because one of Umofia's citizens was killed in Mbaino. After Okonkwo lead Umofia to a victory, they brought back 2 of Mbaino's citizens. One was a young male and one a virgin female. This was to justify, Mbaino's actions. Okonkwo takes the young male under his roof, although the boy is scared of him. The boy and girl had nothing to do with the murder.
All of the men of the village Umuofia are called to the market. They were summoned because a rival village, Mbaino, killed a girl from their town. The girl was the wife of Ogbuefi Udo. Mbaino was asked to sacrifice a young man and a virgin or there will be a war. The other villages are scared of Umuofia because they are powerful in magic and war, so Mbaino sacrifices the boy and the girl. The girl goes to the man whose wife was murdered. The boy, Ikemefuna, stays with Okonkwo until it is decided what to do with him.
One morning the men were called to a meeting at the market. They were over 10,000 men at the meeting. Someone from Mbaino killed somebody from Umuofia. The only way they could prevent war was by sending a boy and girl to Umuofia. The kid was Ikemefuna and he was going to live with Okonkwo and his wives for a little while. The kid had no clue what was going on but was informed.
Okonkwo was just about to fall asleep, when an announcement was made to the villages. Every man was expected to go to the marketplace the following morning. There were about 10,000 men gathered in the square. In the square, there was a matter that was to be resolved. A man had murdered Ezeugo, and they had to choose the consequence. They either wage a war, or the village had to offer up a young man and woman. An oracle forbid Umuofia to wage war, so the village gave a young man and woman. The young man was taken from his family, and now lives with Okonkwo.
All of the men had to gather at the market place. At first Onkonko thought it was for war, but it wasn't. The Mbaino had killed Umofia's daughter. Because of this, a settlement was made because of the fear of war. The trade had a virgin and a boy named Ikemefund. Also, the new character, Nywoye (who is Okonkwo's son), is introduced.
During the night, Okonkwo hears the town crier telling everyone to gather in the town center tomorrow. At the town center, it is announced that the wife of a umoafia man was murdered in a neighboring village, Mbaino. As punishment, Mbaino is forced to give up a young man and virgin. Okonkwo is chosen to deliver the message. The village decides that Ikemefuna should stay with Okonkwo until the decide what to do with him. Okonkwo becomes worried about his own son, Okoye, who is becoming lazy.
A drum was sounded through out the village. Every man of Umuofia was asked to gather at the marketplace. A woman of the tribe was murdered. She was at the Mbaino market at the time of her murder. The woman was the wife of Ogbuefi Udo. The tribe of Umuofia wanted vengeance.
Okonkwo does not care for his father. He was ashamed of his father because he borrowed money from several people and never returned it. In chapter 2, there was a rival tribe who admitted to killing one of their people. Okonkwo's tribe said they would destroy the rival tribe if they did not give them a virgin along with a fifteen year old boy. The fifteen year old boy's name is Ikemefuna. The elders decide to turn him over to Okonkwo. Okonkwo's first wife takes care of Ikemefuna.
onkonwo is told to come to a meeting in the middle of the night. The meeting is about how to prevent war between two villages. One of the villages had killed a member of another. They deciede upon one village giving a boy and a girl to the other village. Onkonwo is given the boy to look after. The boy's name is Ikemefuna and he lives with Onkonwo and his wives
There is a meeting in the market place. A woman from Umuofia had gone to Mbaino and was killed. An ultimatum was given to Mbaino asking them to choose between war, or the offer of a young man and a virgin as compensation. Mbaino gives Umuofia a young man and girl. The girl is given to the man who lost his first wife. The man, Ikemefuna, has to stay with Okonkwo's oldest wife.
Every man in Umuofia was called to the market to discuss something very important. Ogbuefi Ezeugo, as always, was chosen to speak. He informed everyone that Ikemefuna was murdered by someone from Mbaino. Mbaino's options were to go to war or to offer a young virgin and a young man as compensation. The people of Mbaino knew how powerful Umuofia was in war, magic, medicine, and priests. Agadi-Nwayi was their war-medicine and secret weapon against other countries. Ikemefuna stayed with Ukonkwo for 3 years. He ran his house with a very heavy hand and was very strict. No one in his house wen against him.
In the second chapter, a murder occurs in Ogbuefi. The Open of the town sounds the drum and tells all the men of umuofia to join at the market place in the morning. Everybody soon discovered their enemy has murdered the daughter of Umuofia. The daughter went to the market at Mbaino and was then killed. The people of umuofia proposed and ultimatum: war or a young boy and a very as compensation. Since umuofia was feared by neighbors the enemy gave into their request. They sent a young boy named ikemefuna. The girl went to Ogbuefi odo to replace the murdered wife, and the boy went to the clan as a whole, and for three years lived job okonkwas house hold.
One night every man of Umuofia got a letter to tell them to meet in the market the next day. The next morning, every man gathered at the market. At the market, Ogbuefi Ezeugo, who was a powerful orator, stood up and yelled "Umuofia Kwenu" four times with his fist in the air. All the men responded to Ogbuefi Ezeugo by saying, "Yaa!" Ogbuefi Ezeugo told all the men that the wife of Ogbuefio Udo was killed. Instead of the two villages going into a war, they offered a virgin and a young man. The young man lived with one of Okonkwo's wife and their son. Ikemefuna, the young man, lived with them for three years.
A little girl from the community was killed by a neighbor tribe. All the men were called to a meeting. At the meeting they yelled out "Yaa!" and "Umuofia Kwenu." Okonkwo believed they should go to war. You learn about Okonkwo's five war heads. The daughter was that of Umuofia, who was greatly feared.
Ogbuefi Ezeugo had summoned all the men of Umuofia to announce the death of their daughter and wife of Ogbuefi Udo after going in Mbaino. Ogbuefi Ezeugo said he would either have war with them or settle an agreement. Sine the Mbaino and other villages feared Umuofia they gave them a virgin and a 15 year old boy for compensation. Okonkwo took ikemefuna in his home
