Children before the age of 7 or 8 tend to think all things that move are alive. Things such as clouds or bikes.

Children think of the attributes of being alive as movement. Something that living things do is move, and children take that attribute to mind and that is why when they are seeing a toy move or a bicycle they think that it is alive. But after the age of 8 children normally start to understand that this is not necessarily true.

At the age of seven and younger kids show animism. They think clouds and biked are real people. People do not do this for all their life until they are old. Once they are old they score the same as the young children. This is apart of the pre-operational stage

Piaget was a great psychologist that set up a series of experiments that help see where someones mental development is at. When kids are in preoperational they believe that imitation objects do things that people do. Such as bikes coming alive.

The passage was about perception for younger people. From ages 2-7, the kids believe that everything is alive. Once at about age 8, they start to understand everything.

Children in the age group of 2-7 tend to believe in a thing called animism. This means that they think things such as bikes, trees, or anything else that can move is alive like a human being. This stage is called pre operational. As we get older we tend to use our intelligence in a different way which doesn't allow us to think this way.

Children believe that things are alive because they have the capability to move. They fail to realize that in order to be alive you need to be able to breath or reproduce. they just see things in an animism point of view.

The article was talking about when kids are in the pre operational stage. It was saying how they are talking about kids thinking inanimate objects being real. It said if kids see objects move they think they are alive. Most people would not believe kids think this he said.

Children at the age from 2-7 tend to think thing are more alive. They think about being alive as movement. Children begin to think that things such as clouds and bikes are alive. After the age of 8 children normally start to understand that this is not necessarily true.

Children think that things that move are alive. Due to the children mistake it is not true that most things are alive.

Piaget showed children pictures of lifeless objects like clouds and bicycles. They believed that the objects could move, breath, and talk. Piaget found that below the ages of 7 or 8 children believed that those objects were alive. At the age of 8 children begin to realize that those objects aren't actually alive. At that age the children begin to give accurate answers to Piaget's test, and a doctoral student decided she would see if this held up to older people.

Children believe that objects are "alive" if they can move, but in reality there are many more factors that determine things as being "alive". Middle aged people have also shown signs of animism.
