No on had money to pay bills so they became evicted. The stock market crashed in 1929. People became fearful and fled to the banks to get their savings out, but it was all gone. Businesses became bankrupt. 225,000 people were laid off from work.

Everyone was out of money. 225,000 people were out of jobs. People were fearful of losing everything. People rushed to the banks to withdraw money from the banks. Everyone lost there money. Americans sold everything that they had. They sold there houses , and prized possessions. People didn't know who to ask for help and the government didn't know how to give any relief.

Everyone is going bankrupt and jobless. If nobody is buying things from the store then the store owner is losing money. It's a domino effect. People were rushing to the banks to withdraw money from their account but even the bank was losing their money. If people were to ask for help, nobody would know how to help because they're going through the same thing.

a domino effect was occurring because if the people cant afford to pay rent then they wont be going shopping so the stores go bankrupt as well.

People went broke because banks would go bankrupt. People were also depressed and desperate for money and hope. 4 million Americans went homeless with no US government support .
