There are some things that can cause memory problems besides old age. Things such as injury, trauma, and neglect. Disease related could be Alzheimer or Parkinson's . Trauma could be related to diabetes, stroke, epilepsy etc. But neglect is things that are mostly controlled by the person themselves such as alcohol abuse, drug use, improper nutrition, etc

Disease and trauma we have little ability to control. Neglect, however, you do have control over. In Alzheimer’s Disease there is a decrease of the brain’s ability to produce a neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, which result in the dying of neurons and the shrinking of the brain. Trauma-related causes are due to events outside a person’s control. Each of these categories causes dysregulation to the brain. With disease and trauma causes, the reason for memory problems is due to events and situations outside of one’s control.

The three main causes for memory loss in someone who is considered healthy and with no previous background in memory loss is: disease, trauma and neglect. With disease and trauma, precautions can be taking but it is hard to control. Neglect is an interlay different thing and can be completely avoided. With trauma and diseases your body no longer is has the ability cofunction like it should. Neglect is controllable but can also have life long effects on your memory, your body and your mind.

Memory problems can happen from 3 things disease, trauma, and neglect. Disease and trauma we have a little control. Neglect, however we do have control of. Disease related problems are not due to any form of specific trauma, rather due to some form of disease, infection, or dysfunction of neurotransmitter or neuromodulators.

Disease, trauma, and neglect are the three main things devoted to memory loss. Disease and trauma are two things that you don’t have the ability to control, but neglect, you do have the ability to control. Diseases are due to dysfunctional neurotransmitters. Trauma is due to the dysegulation of the brain. Some people neglect their brain by doing things they know are bad for their brain but do it anyways.
